A brief summary of my early days (Education and Occupation included)
I was born on May 18, 1920 named Karol Józef Wojtyła in Wadowice, Poland of Emilia Kaczorowska and Karol Wojtyla. I was the third child that did not get to me my older sister who had died before my birth. My mother died in child birth when I was eight, and my older brother died when I was twelve. My father and I moved to Krakow, Poland where I attended Jagiellonian University. There I studied various languages and philosophy, I was also was involved in many theatrical productions and was a playwright. My father died of a heart attack in 1941. By the age of 20, I had lost my entire family. This was when I seriously began to think of his vocation to the priesthood. I joined a clandestine seminary in Karkow run by the archbishop. I was ordained priest November 1, 1936. After much noble work in Poland I was named the bishop of Ombi in 1958 and the archbishop of Karkow in 1964. Because they considered me a great thinker I took part of the Second Vatican Council. Later in 1967 I was made Cardinal by Pope Paul VI.
